Dato' Dr Ken Yeang
Dr. Yeang's early education was at Chelthenham Boys College in England. His architectural education was at AA School in London; followed by a doctorate from Wolfson College at the University of Cambridge. His PhD dissertation in Cambridege on ecological design and planning has been the fundamental basis upon which his subsequent R&D and design work particularly in the field of designing intensive urban buildings and tall buildings. He studied ecological land use planning at the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Ken Yeang International is a subsidiary of T. R. Hamzah & Yeang Sdn. Bhd. Which was formed with his colleague, Tengku Robert Hamzah in 1976, now with offices in Kuala Lumpur, London, Singapore, Australia and China.
Dr. Yeang has authored several authoritative books and article on skyscrapers design and on ecological design.
Dr Yeang is Past President of the Malaysian Institute of Architects, a post he also held between 1983 to 1986. From 1986 to 1988, he was elected Chairman of ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council Asia) and was on the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Council from 1996 to 1997.Dr. Yeang is currently the Professor in Architecture (Graham WIllis Chair) at the University of Sheffield.
